Here’s a crash course on how lost wages and disability payments work in Utah workers’ compensation cases:
The cap on lost wage benefits is adjusted each year according to the average income of Utah state residents.
Other Factors: The number of dependents you have may also affect your benefits in some cases.
There’s a 3-day waiting period before TTD benefits begin. If your time off lasts more than two weeks, workers comp should then pay you for those first three days.
In addition to wage replacement, workers’ compensation also covers reasonable and necessary medical expenses related to your work injury. This is a lifetime benefit.
